Following a public consultation period (see AgbioNews Aug 31, 2018), authorities in Argentina have approved Beijing Dabeinong (DBN) Technology Group's herbicide tolerant soybean trait. However, cultivation of varieties containing the DBN 09004-6 genetic event may not commence until Chinese import approval has been granted. The DBN 09004-6 genetic event confers tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate and glufosinate in soybean via the expression of CP4 EPSPS (glyphosate tolerant) and pat (glufosinate tolerant) genes. The commercialisation process in Argentina has been facilitated through a partnership with Bioceres and the Rosario Technological Center (Indear).
