Authorities in Argentina have approved the commercialisation of Syngenta’s insect-protected genetically modified cotton, COT102 (marketed as VIPCOT). The COT102 event provides insect resistance via the Vip3A(a) gene from Bacillus thuringiensis, and is targeted at the control of lepidopteran pests.
