Australia and New Zealand Approve HB4 Wheat
MAY 12, 2022
Trigall Genetics, a joint venture between Bioceres and Florimond Deprez, has received approval from Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) for the sale and use of food derived from a new food produced using gene technology: wheat line IND-00412, developed by Bioceres. This line has been genetically modified to be tolerant to drought, as well as possessing tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate through the expression of the HaHB4v and bar genes. Trigall Genetics submitted this GMO wheat variety for approval in August 2021 (see AgbioNews Aug 12, 2021).
