Australia Approves GM Sorghum Trials
JULY 7, 2022
Australia's Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has authorised the University of Queensland to conduct a field trial of GM sorghum for an asexual seed formation trait. The application was received earlier this year (see AgbioNews, Jan 6, 2022). The aim of the trials is to assess the agronomic characteristics, seed viability, gene persistence, yield and yield components and grain quality of GM sorghum plants under field conditions.
