Australia’s Office of the Gene Technology Regulator has received an application from The University of Adelaide to conduct a field trial of wheat and barley varieties that have been genetically modified for enhanced yields and improved abiotic stress tolerance. The trials are scheduled to take place between April 2022 and January 2027, on a maximum of two sites per year, with a combined total of 2 hectares across both sites in any year.
