Azotic North America has launched its Envita nitrogen fixing technology in the US for the 2019 season. Envita utilises the bacterium Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus that allows plants to fix nitrogen from the air and, when applied in furrow or on seed, grows with the plant, metabolising nitrogen from the atmosphere. Envita is applied to plants via the seed creating a symbiotic relationship within the plant. In conjunction with this commercialisation, the company has launched a program for North American farmers to trial Envita on their 2019 crops, offering a product replacement if Envita does not improve their yield.
