Bayer Gains US Approval for VT4PRO
Bayer has received commercial registrations from the US EPA for traits that will enable the company to commercialise its newest maize product, VT4PRO with RNAi Technology. Bayer’s VT4PRO technology combines the company’s Trecepta technology (MON 89034 x MIR 162) with the genetic event MON 87411. Trecepta Technology controls above-ground pests such as corn earworm and western bean cutworm, whilst the MON 87411 genetic event provides corn rootworm resistance through the expression of DvSnf7 dsRNA, a novel RNAi-based mode of action that allows for targeted control of corn rootworm.
Bayer plans to conduct large scale field-testing of VT4PRO Technology during the 2022 and 2023 growing seasons with the potential for commercial launch in the US in 2024, pending state registrations.
