The Australian Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) has received a licence application from Bayer for the commercial cultivation of the genetically modified (GM) herbicide-tolerant cotton MON 88701 in Australia. The MON 88701 trait confers dicamba-tolerance through the dmo gene, and glufosinate-tolerance through the bar gene.
