Canola varieties containing Bayer's TruFlex canola trait have gained Chinese import approval for food and feed uses. The approval allows the commercialisation of the technology in Canada, the world's largest canola market, in 2019 through Bayer's Dekalb seed brand and Canadian licensees including Nutrien Ag Solutions and Canterra Seeds. The TruFlex trait provides tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate and reportedly delivers increased weed control and crop safety over previous technologies.
