Bolivia Proposes GM Crop Expansion

The Bolivian government is considering the expansion of GM crop varieties to allow the cultivation of maize and cotton. At present the country only allows the cultivation of GM soybean, with just over 300,000 hectares of traded Roundup Ready soybean cultivated in 2017/18. Authorities have reportedly also recently approved two further GM soybean events for cultivation.
