China Approves Corteva Soybean and Maize Traits
JANUARY 10, 2019
Chinese authorities have granted import approval to Corteva's Enlist E3 soybeans and Qrome maize for food and feed uses. Dow AgroSciences' (now part of Corteva Agriscience) Enlist E3 trait first entered the Chinese regulatory system six years ago. Enlist E3 soybeans feature the genetic event DAS-44406, which confers tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate, glufosinate and 2,4-D. Enlist soybean (genetic event DAS-68416) possess tolerance to glufosinate and 2,4-D, and has not yet gained Chinese import approval. Qrome maize utilises the genetic event DP 4114 to provide resistance against select lepidopteran and coleopteran insect pests, and also features tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate and glufosinate.
