Cibus has entered into an agreement with Valley Oil Partners regarding the licensing of certain US rights for the cultivation of canola with Cibus’ ultra-high-oleic oil trait. Through the terms of this non-exclusive agreement, Cibus will earn royalties on sales of the ultra-high-oleic oil in US food and industrial markets by Valley Oil. Cibus developed the non-GMO trait through the use of its Rapid Trait Development System (RTDS) gene-editing technology. Valley Oil Partners is a company focused on the development and sale of differentiated, non-GMO specialty vegetable oils, animal meal and associated grain products.
