Corteva Agriscience and ZeaKal, a California-based plant science company focused on improving agricultural productivity, have announced the commencement of an R&D collaboration. Through this collaboration, the companies aim to use ZeaKal’s PhotoSeed technology, which uses a novel mechanism to increase a plant’s photosynthetic capacity, to improve seed quality and increase crop yields. As part of this collaboration Corteva will take a minority equity stake in ZeaKal.
