Corteva, BASF and MS Technologies Enter Soybean Trait Licensing Agreement

JUNE 29, 2022

Corteva, BASF and MS Technologies have entered into a trait licensing agreement to develop next-generation Enlist E3 soybeans with a nematode resistance soybean trait for farmers in the USA and Canada. The new trait would provide protection against nematode pests in soybean crops, including soybean cyst nematode. Under the terms of the agreement, Corteva and MS Technologies have licensed the Enlist E3 herbicide tolerance soybean trait to BASF for development with its nematode resistance trait. In response, BASF has licensed the nematode resistance trait to Corteva and MS Technologies for use in Enlist E3 soybeans. BASF's nematode resistance trait aims to be the first commercially available biotechnology-derived nematode solution when launched, which is expected by the end of the decade.
