Corteva to Launch Enlist E3 Soybean and Qrome Corn
Corteva Agriscience has announced its intention to introduce varieties of Enlist E3 soybeans in the United States, Canada and Brazil in 2019. Enlist E3 soybeans (DAS-44406) were jointly developed by Dow (now part of Corteva) and MS Technologies to possess tolerance to three herbicides: 2,4-D, glyphosate and glufosinate. The company expects the first half of 2019 to focus on expanding grower experiences through demonstration plots, field technology days and other opportunities, while the second half of the year will focus on commercial sales efforts with a view to making the technology available to farmers during 2020. Corteva is also expanding the availability of Qrome (DP4114 x MON 810 x MIR604 x NK603) corn in the USA. The product possesses resistance to above and below ground pests as well as the herbicides glyphosate and glufosinate. Both Enlist E3 soybean and Qrome corn gained Chinese import approval for food and feed usage in January 2019 (see AgbioNews Jan 10, 2019).
