Corteva’s Stacked Gene Maize Gains Positive EU Safety Opinion
DECEMBER 14, 2021
Corteva’s stacked gene maize event NK603 × T25 × DAS-40278-9 has received a positive safety opinion from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for import, processing, feed and food uses. The stack provides herbicide tolerance to three active ingredients; glyphosate (via NK603), glufosinate (by T25) and 2,4-D (from DAS-40278-9). No safety concerns were identified in previous assessments, and the panel has concluded that the combination of the single maize events does not give rise to food and feed safety and nutritional concerns. The stack has been approved for cultivation in Brazil and has received import approval in South Korea and Taiwan.
