The Donald Danforth Plant Science Centre and the National Agricultural Seeds Council of Nigeria (NASC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in seed certification technologies and biotechnology strategies. The partnership aims to develop and implement strategies that will enhance the use of molecular diagnostics in seed certification, promote opportunities for scientific exchange between the organisations, and the organisation of activities of mutual interest. The Danforth centre led the regulatory submission process for PBR Cowpea which was recently successfully introduced in Nigeria (see AgbioNews Jul 16, 2021).
