EU Approves Corteva’s GM Maize for Food and Feed Use

SEPTEMBER 24, 2025

The European Commission has authorised the use of Corteva’s genetically modified (GM) herbicide-tolerant maize DP51291 for food, feed, and other uses, excluding cultivation. This approval is valid for ten years, with any products produced from this crop subject to the EU’s labelling and traceability rules. Corteva’s DP51291 event confers control of susceptible maize rootworm pests and tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate through expression of the IPD072Aa and PAT proteins.
