The European Commission has authorised two genetically modified crops for food and feed use. The authority has provided import approval for food and feed uses for the genetic events DAS 40278 x NK603 x T25, a maize trait stack that has so far has gained cultivation approval in Uruguay and South Africa and import approval in Taiwan; and MON 87769 x MON 89788, a soybean stack that is used in Bayer's SDA Omega-3 Roundup Ready 2 Yield seed product, which has so far gained cultivation approval in Uruguay. The authorisations will be valid for ten years.
