HPPD Soybean Trait Gains Chinese Approval

JANUARY 10, 2019

Soybean containing the genetic event SYHT0H2, which was co-developed by Bayer and Syngenta, has gained import approval from Chinese authorities for food and feed uses. The trait, commonly known as MGI, provides tolerance to the herbicides mesotrione, glufosinate and isoxaflutole. The ownership of the trait was reportedly transferred to BASF as part of Bayer's required divestments in order to facilitate the acquisition of Monsanto (see AgbioNews Oct 13, 2017).
