The scientific research organisation ICRISAT (International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics) has entered into a collaboration with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). Under the collaborative project, the organisations will aim to develop dual herbicide tolerant pigeonpea using gene editing and genomics approaches. Both the institutes jointly submitted and won a competitive grant from Department of Biotechnology (DBT) in India.
