Inari and UCLA in Epigenetics Licensing Agreement
FEBRUARY 13, 2019
Inari, the plant breeding company founded by Flagship Pioneering in 2018, has announced that it has secured patent licenses for epigenetics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This license allows Inari to influence crop performance without altering a plant's genetic code. Inari intends to utilise plant epigenetics to re-introduce genetic diversity. When applied to plant breeding, epigenetics provide the potential to improve field performance and to confer certain beneficial characteristics to crops. This license strengthens Inari's product development process while they develop their first wave of commercial crops.
