Light Bio and Ginkgo Bioworks have entered into a partnership to leverage Ginkgo’s plant cell assays for bioluminescence engineering. Under the agreement, Ginkgo Bioworks aims to improve the efficiency and output of luminescence enzymes utilised by glowing ornamental plants developed by Light Bio. Light Bio utilises a new type of bioluminescence mechanism and is developing plants for homes and gardens able to efficiently emit light.
