Nigeria’s biotechnology and biosafety stakeholders have validated and adopted national guidelines on the regulation of genetically modified plants with stacked genes. The guidelines have been developed to ensure that the products from these technologies are safe for human consumption and the environment, conferring expected benefits and without additional risks compared with conventional counterparts.
