The US-based plant biotechnology company PlantResponse Biotech has signed a licencing agreement with the University of Tübingen in Germany for trait technology that has the potential to enhance a plant’s innate immunity to fungal infections. PlantResponse has acquired the exclusive global licence to commercialise two traits developed and patented by the University that, when transferred to crops, enhance a plant’s immune system to combat the diseases Sclerotinia and Botrytis. PlantResponse has also acquired the licence to commercialise any extracts derived from the technology that could be applied to crops through foliar application.
