The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has provided a positive scientific opinion of Corteva's SmartStax Enlist (MON 89034 x 1507 x MON 88017 x 59122 x DAS-40278-9) and its sub-combinations. The EFSA state that no environmental safety concerns would be present due to its accidental release and that post-market monitoring of products containing this trait stack is not required. SmartStax Enlist combines the SmartStax insect resistance trait stack, originally developed by Monsanto and Dow, with Corteva's 2,4-D herbicide tolerance trait which is part of the Enlist weed control system.
