Switzerland is to exempt genome editing from its moratorium on the cultivation of genetically modified plants, which was extended earlier this year for an additional four years until the end of 2025 (see AgbioNews Oct 5, 2021). The exemption covers genetically modified organisms to which no transgenic, or foreign, material has been inserted.
