Terramera Acquires RNAi Technology from CCI

MARCH 1, 2019

The Canadian biological crop protection company Terramera has successfully acquired technology from Cotyledon Consulting Inc. (CCI) for developing precision herbicides. The technology, called Stem Shock, allows for RNA-based herbicides to target specific weed species with no adverse impact to the environment or surrounding crops. Through the acquisition Terramera will obtain the Stem Shock RNAi technology and intellectual property, as well as 3 US patents, the right to use the Stem Shock name, and one of CCI’s Scientific Officers. Terramera plans to pair the technology with their own Actigate Targeted Performance technology to more accurately target weeds at the metabolic level.
