Vilmorin, Corteva and Broad Institute in Genome Editing Agreement

Vilmorin has entered into a non-exclusive licencing agreement with Corteva and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, a biomedical and genomic research centre located in Cambridge, USA, regarding genome editing tools. Under the agreement, Vilmorin will have access to certain CRISPR-Cas9 patents covering genome editing tools for agricultural use which the company will utilise for both its Field Seeds and Vegetable Seeds activities. The licence agreement covers all of Vilmorin’s research work and programs as well as potential commercial applications, with the company aiming to strengthen its ability to develop more efficient seed varieties in order to meet global food challenges.
