Yield10 and Bayer have expanded their non-exclusive research licence regarding soybean crop research to include a new discovery related to Yield10’s C3004 yield trait gene. Through the expanded licence, Bayer will have access to new developments from Yield10’s C3004 program in addition to new advanced technology related to the C3004 trait and its potential to increase seed yield. Yield10 initially granted Monsanto a non-exclusive research licence in 2017, allowing Monsanto to evaluate Yield10’s novel C3003 and C3004 yield traits in soybeans (see AgbioNews Dec 14, 2017).
