Yield10 Gains CONABIA Exemption for Camelina Lines
FEBRUARY 2, 2022
Yield10 Bioscience has received a positive determination from the Argentine Biosafety Commission (CONABIA) for three CRISPR genome-edited lines. CONABIA evaluated the three CRISPR camelina lines and concluded that they are similar to conventionally bred varieties and not regulated under resolution No. 763.111. Due to transgenic DNA not being present, the varieties can be marketed in the same way as conventionally bred camelina. The lines covered are E3902, which has three modified genes to improve seed oil content, and two distinct varieties containing the C3007 trait, which is at the field-testing stage and also is intended to increase oil biosynthesis.
