Bayer Crop Science has launched the maize variety DK95R through its Dekalb brand in Indonesia. DK95R possesses tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate. GM maize has only recently been approved for cultivation in the country, with initial areas of 15,000 hectares planted in 2022. At present, only Bayer's NK603 herbicide tolerance trait and Syngenta's GA21 (glyphosate tolerance) and Bt11 (lepidopteran pest resistance) traits have been approved for cultivation.
