Corteva has announced plans to commercially launch Optimum GLY canola, which contains the genetic event 73496, which uses the gat4621 gene to confer glyphosate tolerance. Canadian farmers will have access to the technology this year through spring canola hybrids from both Pioneer and Brevant seeds brands, while US growers will have access to the product through the Pioneer brand. Corteva plans to showcase Optimum GLY canola in Pioneer brand demonstration trials in Australia, with a full launch expected in 2024. The company intends to broadly out-license Optimum GLY herbicide tolerance technology.
