Corteva has announced Vorceed Enlist maize will be made available in Canada in limited quantities for 2024 planting, with increased availability in a broader set of genetic backgrounds and maturities expected by 2025. Growers in the country will be able to access the technology across the Pioneer and Brevant seed brands to manage corn rootworm pressure. This follows the introduction of Vorceed Enlist maize in the US (see AgbioNews Mar 7, 2023).

First announced in 2022 (AgbioNews Mar 11, 2022), Vorceed Enlist provides 3 modes of action for above-ground insect protection; 3 modes of action for below-ground insect protection, featuring a new RNAi mode of action; as well as tolerance to a range of herbicides, including 2,4-D, glyphosate, glufosinate and ‘fop’ (aryloxyphenoxypropionate) herbicides.
