LongPing High-Tech Receives China Approval for GM Maize and Soybean Traits

JANUARY 18, 2023

LongPing High-Tech has received biosafety certificates from China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for two genetically modified (GM) crop traits. One biosafety certificate has been issued for the BFL4-2 maize trait, jointly developed by LongPing and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which confers insect resistance and tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate. The second trait to be granted a biosafety certificate is the insect-resistance soybean trait CAL16, developed by Hangzhou Ruifeng Biotech, in which LongPing is a shareholder. The biosafety certificates are valid for five years, ending January 4th, 2028.
