Pioneer Seeks Deregulation of DP23211 Maize
NOVEMBER 3, 2020
The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has invited public comment on Pioneer Hi-Bred International’s application for the deregulation of its GM insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant maize, DP23211. Maize varieties containing event DP23211 have been genetically modified to express DvSSJ1 double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) and the IPD072Aa protein for control of corn rootworm pests, as well as the phosphinothricin acetyltransferase (PAT) protein for tolerance to the herbicide glufosinate.
Corteva, Pioneer’s parent company, recently submitted an application for the approval of DP23211 maize to Food Standards Australia New Zealand (see AgbioNews Oct 2, 2020).
