Syngenta Obtains US EPA Approval for Durastak Maize
FEBRUARY 28, 2025
Syngenta's Durastak maize trait stack has received approval from the US EPA. Durastak provides protection against Corn Rootworm (CRW) through the use of three Bt proteins targeted at improving insect resistance management and enhancing standability. The trait stack will also be offered in combination with Viptera technology, for enhanced above-ground insect control. Durastak hybrids are currently in trial, with the company expecting to progress these into pre-commercial testing by autumn 2025 in preparation for commercialisation, where the hybrids will be available through the Golden Harvest and NK brands, and via independent seed companies by 2027.
