BASF Seeks Deregulation of LBFLFK Canola

APRIL 4, 2019

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has prepared a preliminary decision regarding a request from BASF seeking a determination of non-regulated status for its LBFLFK canola. This canola variety is genetically modified to convert oleic acid to omega-3 fatty acids including docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, as well as for tolerance to imazamox. APHIS has made available its preliminary plant risk assessment for public comments, with the organisation stating that all comments will be considered on or before 6th May 2019.
