The Israel-based agricultural biotechnology company PlantArcBio has received final confirmation that its HPPD-tolerant soybean and cotton products are exempt from USDA regulatory oversight, as similar products have already been fully evaluated and deregulated. The company expects this exemption to significantly reduce the time and costs associated with bringing its novel HPPD tolerant soybean and cotton solutions to farmers. The gene used in these products, which confers tolerance to HPPD inhibitor herbicides, was discovered using PlantArcBio’s Direct In Plant (DIP) discovery technology.
