Above Food Corp., a company that is engaged in food supply chains with a focus on plant proteins, has entered into an asset-purchase agreement (APA) with NRGene, through which it will purchase certain AI-based genomic assets, intellectual property, and trait development technology licensing rights. Above Food will also receive a licence to NRGene’s proprietary TraitMAGIC technology, which is intended to facilitate trait mapping and introgression of desirable traits into crops. Through the acquisition, Above Food intends to accelerate its development of varieties with genetic traits at a more efficient rate.

Closing of the transactions under the APA is contingent on the closing of Above Food’s business combination with BITE Acquisition Corp. and the subsequent listing of the combined company's common shares on the New York Stock Exchange.
