Bayer Launches Intacta 2 Xtend Soybeans in Brazil
JUNE 21, 2021
Bayer has launched its Intacta 2 Xtend soybeans in Brazil for the 2021/22 season, having gained Chinese import approval for Intacta 2 Xtend soybeans for use in food and feed in 2020 (see AgbioNews Jun 29, 2020). Chinese import approval was key to the commercialisation of the technology in Brazil, with China representing the largest importer of Brazilian soybeans. Intacta 2 Xtend soybean varieties, which provide resistance to select insect pests as well as tolerance to the herbicides dicamba and glyphosate, were approved for cultivation in Brazil in 2018 (AgbioNews Mar 9, 2018).
