Bayer Seeks Deregulation of MON 95379 Maize

MARCH 1, 2024

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has invited public comment on Bayer’s application for the extension of deregulated status for the company’s genetically modified insect-resistant MON 95379 maize.  The MON 93579 genetic event provides protection against specific lepidopteran pests, including fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda), sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis), and corn earworm (Helicoverpa zea), via expression of Cry1B.868 and Cry1Da_7 genes.
