Bioheuris and Gensus in CRISPR Herbicide Tolerant Cotton Partnership
MAY 11, 2021
The agricultural biotechnology startup company Bioheuris and the Argentine cotton seed company Gensus have entered into a partnership regarding the development of herbicide-tolerant cotton using CRISPR gene editing. Through the partnership, the two companies will use gene editing to create herbicide-tolerance traits by enhancing the performance of the crop’s own genes without introducing foreign DNA, as opposed to currently available herbicide-tolerant GMO cotton varieties, which express genes from other species.
