Brazil’s biosafety regulatory agency, CTNBio, has approved the commercial release of Bayer's MON 95275 insect-resistant maize (see AgbioInvestor GM Monitor). MON 95275 maize varieties possess three insect resistance genes (mpp75Aa1.1, vpb4Da2, and dvSnf7) which combined protect against feeding damage caused by targeted coleopteran insect pests. The MON 95725 genetic event provides targeted control of corn rootworm through the expression of dvSnf7 dsRNA, a novel RNAi-based mode of action.
