CCRI Multan Receives Pakistan Approval for BT CIM-990 Cotton

The Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) Multan has received approval from the Punjab Seed Council (PSC) in Pakistan for the cotton variety BT CIM-990. The variety possesses resistance to select lepidopteran insect pests as well as virus resistance, is high yielding, has low water requirements, and can be grown in various climatic conditions. Typically, 95% of the Pakistan's total cotton area is planted with GM varieties (AgbioInvestor GM Monitor).
