EFSA Publishes Risk Assessment of Bayer’s GM NK603 × T25 Maize

NOVEMBER 28, 2025

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published its assessment of Bayer’s herbicide-tolerant genetically modified (GM) maize NK603 × T25, which is currently undergoing renewal authorisation for food and feed uses, excluding cultivation, within the European Union. The EFSA’s GMO panel has concluded that there is no evidence in the renewal dossier for new hazards, modified exposure, or scientific uncertainties that would change the conclusions of the original risk assessment, provided that the DNA sequences of the events are identical to those previously assessed. NK603 × T25 provides tolerance to the herbicides glyphosate and glufosinate ammonium.
