Ghana Approves Commercialisation of 14 New GM Products

Ghana’s National Biosafety Authority (NBA) has approved 14 new genetically modified (GM) crops for commercialisation, comprising eight maize and six soybean events. The NBA's authorisation comes four months later than anticipated and covers the usage of the approved biotechnology products as feed, food, and/or an industrial ingredient. 13 of the approved biotechnology products were submitted by Bayer, with one GM maize product being submitted by Syngenta.
