The biotechnology startup GreenLab has announced the close of a $5.3 million seed funding round led by a group of investors from Northeast Arkansas. GreenLab's platform produces proteins directly inside maize kernels. The company currently has four patented maize-grown enzymes in commercial production and is seeking partners for direct sales, production, or to expand the capacity of other protein manufacturers.
