India's Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC) has requested that Mahyco, a developer of B.t cotton varieties, submits a new dossier detailing the claims of efficacy of Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex varieties against specific targeted pests as well as a new socio-economic analysis of those insect pests. This request may delay the commercial launch of Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex varieties by at least two years.
