Canada Receives Submissions for GM Crop Approvals

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Health Canada have received submissions for commercial planting purposes and livestock feed and food use of the following GM crop approvals:

  • Bayer and KWS - Sugar beet line KWS20-1, genetically modified to exhibit dicamba, glyphosate and glufosinate herbicide tolerance.
  • Bayer - Maize line designated as MON 95275, genetically modified to exhibit insect resistance.
  • Bayer - Maize line designated as MON 94804, genetically modified to exhibit short stature.
  • Bayer - Soybean line designated as MON 94313, genetically modified to exhibit dicamba, 2,4-D, fops and triketone herbicide tolerance.
  • Pioneer Hi-Bred Canada Company - Maize line designated as DP910521, genetically modified to exhibit herbicide tolerance and protection from targeted lepidopteran pests.
  • Pioneer Hi-Bred Canada Company - Maize line designated as DP51291, genetically modified to exhibit herbicide tolerance and protection from targeted lepidopteran pests.
  • Pioneer Hi-Bred Canada Company - Maize line designated as DAS1131, genetically modified to exhibit herbicide tolerance and protection from targeted lepidopteran pests.
